  • Dr. Andrew G. Franks, Jr. is Board Certified in Internal Medicine (1975), Dermatology (1976), and Rheumatology (1978). He obtained a BA from NYU College of Arts & Science in 1967, and an MD from New York Medical College in 1971. After completing Residency & Fellowship training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, he joined the faculty of NYU School of Medicine in 1978. He was the Director of The Autoimmune Connective Tissue Disease Section until 2020 for a total of over 40 years. He has mentored hundreds of physicians, many of whom are now leading academic and clinical specialists throughout the world. He specializes in Cutaneous Lupus, Dermatomyositis, Scleroderma, Morphea, and Raynaud's Disease and exceeds in the diagnosis and treatment for recalcitrant cutaneous manifestations of all autoimmune and related disorders.
