• Dr. Fixelle received his undergraduate degree at Columbia University and after completing a Master of Science degree in Biology at Southern Illinois University, earned his medical degree and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After completion of his Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Fixelle moved to Atlanta for his fellowship in Digestive Diseases (gastroenterology) at the Emory University School of Medicine.
  
  Dr. Fixelle is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology and member of numerous other professional organizations.
  
  Dr. Fixelle serves as the Medical Director of Endoscopy Consultants, L.L.C. - one of the two AAAHC-certified Endoscopy Centers associated with his practice. He is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine/Digestive Diseases at Emory School of Medicine, and has served in numerous hospital staff leadership roles, including Section Chief of Gastroenterology, Chairman of the Patient Care Committee, Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Hospital Chief of Staff at the former Emory Dunwoody Medical Center, and Section Chief for Gastroenterology at Northside Hospital. He served as a member of the Operative Procedures Committee at Northside Hospital, as well as a Physician Champion in the Reconciliation, Review, and Creation of Electronic Orders for the future CPOE process at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital.
  
  Dr. Fixelle strives to deliver personalized, high quality, gastroenterology specialty care to each of his patients. He is proud to serve along with his support staff at Gastro Consultants of Atlanta, P.C. U.S. News & World Reports named him one of the “Top Doctors in the U.S.” and an Atlanta Magazine "Top Doctor" 2016-2021.
  
  A native of New York, Dr. Fixelle has lived in Atlanta since 1983. He is the proud father of three responsible adults, and now a grandfather.
