The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Saint Louis University is excited to announce an opening for a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon to join our full-time faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor ranks. Our division boasts a team of six dedicated full-time faculty members, providing exceptional care across multiple facilities including SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital (SLUH), St. Mary's Hospital, St. Clare Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, and the John Cochran VA Medical Center.

Clinical Role:

  • Residents & Fellows: Supervise and mentor 7 residents and fellows, ranging from PGY1 to PGY7.
  • Research Opportunities: Engage in research activities with access to clinical trials and grants.
  • Call Coverage: Provide call coverage at a Level 1 trauma center.
  • Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 1.0
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Operating Room: Spend 2 full days per week in the operating room.
  • Clinic: Dedicate 1 to 1.5 days per week in the clinic.
  • Patient Load: Manage 12-15 patients in a half-day clinic, with some cases extending to 30+ patients.
  • Case Volume: Handle a range of 5-20 cases per week, depending on the influx at the Level 1 trauma center.
  • Call Schedule: Participate in a call schedule of 1:5 days and 1 weekend per month.

Facilities Covered During Call:

  • SLUH: Provide call coverage at Saint Louis University Hospital (SLUH).

Call Intensity and Expectations:

  • Call Nature: Expect a busy call schedule, with the possibility of needing to come in frequently.
  • Resident Involvement: Residents take the first call and are very responsive.

Work Distribution:

  • Inpatient Work: 40%
  • Outpatient Work: 60%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an ACGME Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program
  • Board-certified or board-eligible
  • Ability to obtain a Missouri license
