Clinical Faculty: Pediatric Surgery | University of Arizona

In partnership with the University of Arizona, the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Banner - University Medical Group Tucson is actively seeking an outstanding Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery to provide a full range of services at its newly built medical center. Candidates must be highly motivated, energetic, self-starters, who will forge collegial and collaborative relationships with the many individuals and services who interact with the Pediatric Surgery division.

The Department of Surgery, University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is seeking outstanding academically minded tenure eligible Pediatric Surgeons. Our children's surgical team prides itself on providing world-class, comprehensive, and compassionate care for children. The positions offered include opportunities to aid and participate in the development and expansion of the fetal surgery clinical and research programs. This is the only such program in Arizona or the Southwest.

The selected individual will have the opportunity to develop a full-time clinical practice, educate residents and medical students, and be encouraged to participate in clinical and/or basic science research and fetal surgery. The qualified candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials.

Position Details:

• Perform a variety of pediatric general and specialized surgeries on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
• Hold pediatric general surgery outpatient clinics at various locations in the Tucson area
• As a faculty member, will participate in resident education and serve as a clinical advisor to medical students and residents via lectures, didactics, mentoring, and clinical instruction
• Participates in committee service as needed by the College of Medicine
• Take night and weekend call
• Conduct research appropriate to academic medicine
• Will provide care spanning the spectrum of pediatric surgical procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

• Board-certified or eligible in Pediatric Surgery
• Evidence of clinical and didactic teaching ability
• Established expertise in working with diverse patient populations
