Division Medical Director - Primary Care

.5 FTE Clinical + .5 FTE Medical Director

Assigned a flexible number of practices to lead, you will have the ability to continue providing excellent patient care. This position will allow you to be based at your current practice but expand your influence to other clinics and health centers in the Phoenix-Metro area.

As a Medical Director, the qualified candidate will provide guidance and cultivate efficiency related to patient care delivery, focusing on value-based care, risk recapture, and quality outcomes. This role includes medical case review, utilization, and quality review, along with providing recommendations, advice, and liaison services concerning quality and cost-effective patient care. The Division Medical Director will be instrumental in advancing value-based care initiatives across BMG primary care, aligning clinical practices with organizational goals.

Position Highlights:

  • Dynamic Leadership Role: .5 FTE Medical Directorship combined with .5 FTE clinical duties, allowing you to balance patient care with leadership
  • Salaried Position + MIP: Earn a competitive salary along with additional incentives through Banner's Management Incentive Program (MIP)
  • Clinical Location Per Candidate's Preference: Remain based at a Banner Medical Group practice while overseeing and influencing multiple clinics throughout the Phoenix area
  • Schedule: 5-day work week, no hospital call

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor clinical staff, fostering an environment of quality care and efficiency
  • Conduct medical case reviews, utilization and quality assessments, and make strategic recommendations for enhanced patient care
  • Serve as a vital liaison between BMG's clinical teams and leadership, aligning practices with BMG's vision of patient-centered, cost-effective care
  • Drive initiatives focused on value-based care, risk recapture, and improved quality outcomes across BMG primary care clinics

Qualifications:

  • Board-Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Experience in value based care performance/leadership preferred
  • Skilled communicator, capable of guiding teams and inspiring excellence in patient care
  • Proven ability to take initiative and innovate
  • Must be able to travel around Phoenix-Metro
