Role Summary

The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for delivering high-quality medical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care, while working collaboratively with supervising physicians. The PA will handle a variety of patient cases, from routine wellness visits to urgent care needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical exams.
• Diagnose illnesses, injuries, and other medical conditions.
• Develop treatment plans, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and recommend lifestyle modifications.
• Perform minor medical procedures such as suturing, bone setting, and administering immunizations.
• Provide education and guidance to patients regarding their care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians for hospital rounds, case management, and patient progress.
• Make appropriate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers.
• Ensure patients are screened for preventive care and routine diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Certification: Must have passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE).
• Licensure: Active Texas PA license.
• Experience:
• 2-3 years of experience in healthcare as a nurse or similar role preferred.
• Experience in a clinical or hospital setting is an asset.
