Job Summary:
The Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health seeks an exceptional and visionary academic endocrinologist to assume the role of Division Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. This is an opportunity for a full-time Professor or Associate Professor Academic Clinician. In this influential position, the Division Chief provides strategic and operational leadership, oversees the faculty and staff of the division, spearheads the expansion of our clinical, educational, and research programs, and guides the professional development of our esteemed faculty. This is also an opportunity to teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, thereby shaping the next generation of medical professionals.
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is comprised of 17 faculty physicians, 4 research faculty, and 17 APPs, providing patient centered care to people with diabetes, endocrine disorders and metabolic disease live their healthiest lives. We have an American Diabetes Association-recognized education program, the largest insulin pump program in the region and provide state-of-the-art continuous glucose monitoring. Our innovative inpatient diabetes management service, founded in 2001, manages patients' glucose levels during hospitalization and empowers patients to manage their own care after discharge.
The division is nationally recognized for its research programs in diabetes, inflammation, cancer metabolism, and biology of aging with over $5.3 million in research funding (direct costs) last year. Through cutting-edge, NIH-funded research programs and collaborations with top scientists at UW, researchers in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism improve scientific understanding of endocrine diseases and improve the lives of patients.

Qualifications:
Candidate must be an acknowledged academic physician with demonstrated excellence in research, education and clinical care. Must possess a record of scholarly achievements, outstanding leadership skills, professionalism and ability to develop interdisciplinary, collaborative programs.
Formal experience in teaching, both didactic and in the clinical setting, of Endocrinology to learners enrolled in a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (AOACOCA) accredited medical school and/or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited program.
Candidates for Professor or Associate Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track.
Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License.
