Interventional Pain Management Nurse Practitioner

SSM Health Dean Medical Group, a 450+ physician multi-specialty group is actively searching for a full time (1.0 FTE) Interventional Pain Management Advanced Practitioner (NP) to join our hard working and collegial Pain Management Department at the SSM Health Outpatient Center in Madison, WI. Our team currently consists of 4 physicians and 4 Advanced Practitioners providing innovative pain management interventions focused on alleviating chronic pain symptoms and improving patient well-being and prognosis.

Experience and expertise are preferred but the team is ready to train new graduates and onboard them to the exciting world of interventional pain management!

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner
  • Nurse Practitioner must have completed First Assistant training (completion of AORN approved training program) by the time of hire
  • Nurse Practitioner would need to complete the CRNFA certification within 5 years of hire.
  • Wisconsin registered nurse license and advanced practice nurse licensure or licensed physician assistant or ability to obtain
  • Wisconsin DEA license or ability to obtain
  • BLS

Highlights:

  • Day time clinical hours, Monday-Friday
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic EMR
  • In-office clinic visits including medication checks, pain assessments, post-op care, and treatment of chronic pain.
  • In-office procedures including trigger point injections, nerve blocks, and pain pump assessment and refill.
  • Assist Interventional Pain Management Physicians in the Operating Room on state-of-the-art pain management surgical interventions.
  • Outreach care at SSM Health clinics outside of Madison.

A well-qualified candidate will have:

  • A high degree of expertise and decision-making skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of individuals with chronic pain.
  • Advanced knowledge in the clinical and psychosocial aspects of chronic pain.
  • Familiarity with controlled substances, psychiatric medications, and anticonvulsant medications, and their doses and side effects.
  • Experience and knowledge of pain interventions.
