About the Position: HPM is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician to join our growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with physical impairments, disabilities, and both acute and chronic pain conditions. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, proficiency or desire to train in interventional pain, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based practice.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Pain Management Care
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide spectrum of acute and chronic pain conditions across diverse patient populations, integrating both medical and interventional approaches.
• Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered pain management, focusing on functional improvement and quality of life.
• Provide urgent and elective consultations for complex pain syndromes using a multimodal, interdisciplinary approach.
Interventional Procedures & Clinical Expertise
• Perform advanced pain management procedures utilizing fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance, including but not limited to:
o Epidural steroid injections
o Nerve blocks
o Joint and trigger point injections
o Radiofrequency ablation
o Spinal cord stimulator trials (if applicable)
• Prescribe and manage pharmacologic therapies tailored to individual patient needs, including non-opioid and opioid regimens with an emphasis on safety and monitoring.
Care Coordination & Patient Follow-up
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with primary care providers, specialists, and care teams.
• Monitor patients' clinical responses and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
• Provide ongoing follow-up care to assess outcomes, ensure adherence, and optimize patient satisfaction.
Documentation and Compliance
• Accurately and thoroughly document all evaluations, procedures, and communications in the EMR system.
• Ensure timely completion of visit documentation, procedure reports, and billing entries in accordance with regulatory and organizational policies.
Professional Development and Leadership
• Successfully complete the organization’s comprehensive Pain Fellowship program.
• Remain current with advances in pain management, PM&R, and related interventional techniques through ongoing education and training.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes.
• Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for advanced practice providers (APPs) and interdisciplinary team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
· Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine.
· Active or eligible for medical licensure in states served by HPM.
Experience:
· Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
· Minimum of three years in interventional pain management is preferred.
· Prior experience in rural or underserved communities is preferred.
· Advanced expertise in ultrasound-guided and fluoroscopic procedures is preferred.
