Job Details
- Diagnosis and Treatment - Conduct thorough evaluations to diagnose and treat neurological disorders in pediatric patients, including but not limited to epilepsy, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, genetic disorders, and neuromuscular diseases.
- Patient Care - Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to pediatric patients, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Medication Management - Prescribe and manage medications to alleviate symptoms and improve the quality of life for pediatric patients with neurological disorders. Monitor medication efficacy and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Patient Education - Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms. Empower families to actively participate in their child's care and make informed decisions about treatment.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration - Collaborate with other pediatric specialists, including pediatricians, pediatric neurosurgeons, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients with complex neurological conditions.
- Teaching and Supervision - Provide education and mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric neurology. Supervise and train junior medical staff members to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
Job Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in pediatric neurology
- Completion of an accredited pediatric neurology residency program
- Arizona State Medical license
- Excellent clinical skills and diagnostic acumen in pediatric neurology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty of pediatric neurology (i.e. epilepsy, neuromuscular, neurocritical care, neuroimmunology)
- Experience with advanced diagnostic techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG) and genetic testing
- Track record of scholarly achievements including publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national conferences
- Experience in medical education and teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level
