    Practice Opportunities

    1. Academic Roles (Charlottesville, VA): Join the Department of Anesthesiology at UVA’s School of Medicine, with access to subspecialty practice areas including Adult Multi-Specialty, Pediatrics, Pain Medicine, and Critical Care.     2. Community-Based Roles (Charlottesville & Culpeper, VA): Serve in a high-functioning surgical environment within our growing UVA Community Health network. These positions offer a focus on general anesthesia (including OB, general surgery, and spine), with home-based call, strong administrative support, and integration with UVA’s academic center. Our Charlottesville community-based team benefits from proximity to the academic medical center while maintaining a close-knit practice model.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Administer high-quality, patient-centered anesthesia care
    • Perform regional anesthesia techniques, including peripheral nerve blocks
    • Supervise CRNAs and collaborate within multidisciplinary surgical teams
    • Participate in teaching and mentorship (academic setting)
    • Engage in clinical research (optional, academic setting)
    • Ensure continuity of care and patient safety through proper handoffs
