We are experiencing significant growth in our department, which serves a vast geographical area encompassing Southern Missouri and Southern Illinois. The department of Gynecologic Oncology currently has four physicians and one Nurse Practitioner. We provide clinical care primarily at SSM Health St. Mary's and DePaul hospitals. We serve a largely underserved patient population, and we are looking to expand.
The department offers an Ob/Gyn residency and a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) fellowship, providing medical education to the St. Louis University School of Medicine. All faculty members are part of the School of Medicine and are responsible for teaching, research, and clinical care.
Founded in 1836, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Louis University boasts a remarkable history. Initially established as the first department at St. Mary's in 1925 with just four obstetricians and two rooms, we have evolved into a premier institution with a diverse team of specialists. Our faculty includes 16 specialists in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, 11 in General Obstetrics, three in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS), six in Urogynecology, four in Gynecologic Oncology, one in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), and one specializing in vulvar disorders, supported by four skilled Nurse Practitioners. Our Gynecologic Oncology division has been a cornerstone of our department for over 40 years, reflecting our commitment to cutting-edge care.
We proudly offer a compelling 2-year guarantee and an attractive call schedule of 1:5, creating an exceptional opportunity for professional growth and work-life balance.
