Assistant Professor of Clinical - Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Full-time faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This position will support the Chairman’s Tourette Syndrome research for the Department. The position includes opportunities to participate in other academic activities of a rapidly growing Department of Psychiatry with a national reputation for research, teaching and clinical service.
Education:
A Ph.D or Psy.D. is required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Development and evaluation of alternative and innovative treatment for youth with tic disorders and common co-occurring diagnoses.
- Evaluation and treatment of child and adolescent patients at the University of Miami Clinics and hospitals.
- Teaching of medical students, supervision of psychiatry residents and child psychiatry fellows
- Evaluation and treatment of patients as a part of the UMMG faculty practice
- Actively work with departmental chiefs and key department representatives on important patient care issues, including meetings with other department directors/managers as needed.
- Coordinate and participates in staff and faculty meetings.
- Participate in clinical meetings with administration and Department of Psychiatry to address administrative/clinical issues.
- The Department's Chair or Vice Chair of Clinical Services may assign additional duties.
Position assignment:
20% UMMG clinical practice
80% Research
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Additionally, a track record of mentoring is highly desirable.
