  • Penn State Health Children’s Hospital Division of Developmental Medicine is seeking a Ph. D. level Psychologist licensed in PA and experienced with psychoeducational testing and evaluating children and adolescents.

    Join our Division of Pediatric Developmental Medicine – as a Clinical Pediatric Neuropsychologist or Clinical Psychologist now! We are committed to excellent clinical care, teaching, and research.

    Job Details

    1. We are a division of 1 full-time developmental physician, 2 part-time developmental pediatricians, and 1 Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
    2. The division staff includes excellent administrative and scheduling support.
    3. Assessment and treatment personnel include a speech therapist with an interest in speech apraxia as well as the use of the Hanen method, an education specialist who works with both schools and parents to translate the team’s recommendations into the classroom, and an LPN coordinator who obtains prior authorizations and works with families to answer questions and discuss concerns and a part-time social worker to assist with obtaining medical assistance and finding needed home services.
    4. We provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluations for children with suspected autism, ADHD, learning disorders, and a variety of developmental impairments.
    5. Special interests of the division include psychopharmacology for the treatment of aggression, the use of medical marijuana in the setting of autism, and developing a collaboration with the Autism Division in Psychiatry.

    Job Qualifications

    1. We are seeking someone who has completed a doctoral program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). In addition, they should have 5 or more years of experience with a variety of testing instruments to evaluate cognition and achievement for ages 2 through 18.
    2. Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania BC/BE
    3. Experience with the full range of developmental disorders, particularly evaluation, diagnosis, and management of autism, and attention deficit disorder. Areas of specialization in other aspects of development including aspects of behavior management, sleep management, and therapy using a variety of techniques for anxiety management would be welcomed, but not required.
    4. Interest and experience in teaching medical students, pediatric residents, and other learners in the clinical setting.
    5. An interest in research is not required
