    The Wilkes-Barre, PA VA Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible Gastroenterologist to join the VA team. Your duties will include treat and manage patients who have illnesses related to General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. The applicant will provide comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and education of patients with Gastroenterology conditions. Clinical duties will include diagnosing, treating, and managing patients referred for management of GI disorders including liver disease, Hepatitis C, and liver transplants based on standard and customary methods and techniques. Managing care for Hepatology patients providing comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and education of patients with Gastroenterology conditions in the outpatient, inpatient and community living center settings. Performing surgical procedures, with required expertise in all areas of Gastroenterology. (Da Vinci Surgical System)

    Key Requirements:

    • U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.)
    • Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required in ANY U.S. State.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.

    Office Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday - Friday. On-Call as needed
