The University of Miami Health System, Miller School of Medicine is initiating a search for a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist.

This is a full-time faculty position at an open rank within the Department of Pediatrics. The appointed individual will serve as the attending physician responsible for the care of critically ill and step-down pediatric cardiac patients, including those with heart failure or on mechanical circulatory support. Service time will align with the division's needs, typically benchmarked at 14-16 weeks per year and 52 on-call shifts.

This role includes a commitment to teaching pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology fellows, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other unit-based personnel. The candidate is strongly encouraged to pursue research interests in basic science or clinical fields.

Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in various training and educational activities, leading quality improvement and care process initiatives. They will also contribute to developing clinical practice plans and protocols and engage in simulation-based team performance and skills enhancement activities.

Desired Qualifications:
* MD or DO degree required * Board-certified in Pediatrics * Board-certified or eligible in pediatric cardiology or pediatric critical care with formal advanced clinical training in cardiac intensive care medicine (minimum of 12 months) * Florida medical license (or eligibility)
