University of Texas (UT) at Tyler School of Medicine is seeking a Full Time Trauma Physician to join the fast growing family of UT Health East Texas hospitals and clinics.
About the Position:
- Part of a 2 person Trauma Surgery Team
- Lvl 1 Trauma Center
- EMR: EPIC
- Call 1:6
Responsibilities include:
- All aspects of a high-functioning Level 1 Trauma Center, including Surgical Critical Care
- Medical Education, including Residents
Requirements include:
- MD or DO: Board-certified or board-eligible candidates required
- General Surgery Residency completion required from an accredited ACGME program
- Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care or Trauma completion required from an accredited program featuring certification in Critical Care
- Fellowship in Acute Care Surgery preferred
- The trauma / critical care service will cover day and night shifts 365 days a year for these high-volume and high-acuity hospitals. The typical expectation is 16 shifts per month.
- Experience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery is required
Academic affiliation with UT Tyler School of Medicine, including general surgery residency program with resident coverage
