Emergency Medicine Physician Needed in Hampton, VA

Aya Locums is seeking a Board-Certified (ABEM AOBEM) Emergency Medicine Physician to assist with an ongoing Locums coverage need in Hampton, VA

Start Date: 6/9/25

Contract Length: 6 months with the opportunity to extend Schedule: 12 hour shifts

Shift details: Must be willing to work nights (3-4 shifts per month min)

EMR: Epic

ED Beds/Fast track Beds:  CarePlex: 40 / Port Warwick: 19

Facility Description: CarePlex: Certified Stroke Center / Port Warwick: Freestanding ED

 

Annual Patient Volume: CarePlex: 63,000 / Port Warwick: 31,000

Support Staff:  

CarePlex: 36 hour Physician coverage (6a-3:30p, 11a-8:30p, 3:30p-1a, 8:30p-6a) / 56 hour APP coverage (7a-1p, 7a-4p, 10a-10p, 12p-10p, 3p-2a, 9p-7a)

Port Warwick: 24 hour Physician coverage (7a-7p, 7p-7a) / 22 hour APP coverage (10a-10p, 2p-12a)

Backup Specialties:

CarePlex: stroke center, OB, Int Cards, vascular, GI, surgery, ortho (with hand, spine), 2-3 days a week of neurosurgery

nephrology, neurology (in addition to telestroke), hematology/oncology, urology, pulmonary/critical care, and podiatry

Port Warwick: same call availability as CarePlex; STEMI will go to another facility.
