    Wellstar Medical Group GME Internal Medicine has a full-time Program Director opening based in Hiram, GA.

    The program director must administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating the Internal Medicine residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.

    Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

    Program Administration of the Internal Medicine Department:
    - Oversight of the Departmental operations and budget
    - Preparation and submission of all information required by ACGME
    - Evaluation of Program Faculty and leadership of Faculty Development
    - Selection, evaluation and professional development of residents
    - Coordinates activities with the Chairman of the Internal Medicine Department of the Hospital Medical Staff
    - Other Administrative duties as outlined by ACGME Program Guidelines Teaching, Evaluating, and serving as a Preceptor for Residents:
    - Oversight of the Internal Medicine curriculum design and implementation
    - Participation in didactic and simulated instruction
    - Supervision of Residents in Direct Patient Care
    - Evaluation of Residents progress toward appropriate Milestones Scholarship consistent with ACGME Guidelines such as:
    - Prepare an enduring curriculum based on a needs assessment
    - Participation in clinical research with publication in scholarly journals
    - Attendance and presentations at professional society meetings Clinical Practice:
    - Maintain an office based clinical practice where patients are seen on a regular basis
    - Participation in an on-call schedule consistent with clinical practice needs
    - Participation in Hospital Medical Staff departmental activities
    - Participation in Community health-related activities

    Required Minimum Education:

    MD or DO Degree Required and
    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Required and
    licensed to practice medicine in the State of Georgia Required and
    eligible for unrestricted Active Medical Staff Privileges in Internal Medicine Required or
    a subspecialty of Internal Medicine at WellStar Kennestone Hospital Required

    Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
    All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 5 years experience as a faculty member at an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine training program with at least three years of graduate medical education administrative experience Required and
    A history of scholarly activity consistent with ACGME guidelines. Required

    Required Minimum Skills:

    A skilled clinician who prioritizes patient-centered care.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    The understanding and ability to teach as measured by the success of the residents that he or she has trained.
    The ability to manage a departmental budget and staff.
    Knowledge and understanding of the requirements for enduring accreditation as an ACGME-accredited program in Internal Medicine
