  • The MaineHealth Cancer Care Network (MHCCN) invites hematologist-oncologists to join our dynamic team at MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport, ME, and MaineHealth Waldo Hospital in Belfast, ME. This is a fantastic opportunity to practice comprehensive oncology and hematology care in a rapidly expanding, supportive environment. Physicians with disease specific subspecialty interests are encouraged to apply.

    • A Growing & Collaborative Team: Both hospitals are home to rapidly expanding hematology and oncology practices, with Pen Bay staffed by 2 hematologist-oncologists and 2 NPs, and Belfast with 1 hematologist-oncologists and 1 DNP.
    • Comprehensive Supportive Services: Work alongside dedicated pharmacists, nurse navigators, social workers, palliative care providers, and allied staff within a well-equipped on-site infusion center. Close collaboration with a network of shared services between Pen Bay and WCGH.
    • Tertiary Support: Access to advanced tertiary care hematology services at Maine Health Cancer Care (MHCC) and Maine Medical Center (MMC) in Portland, the state’s leading tertiary care hospital.
    • Flexibility & Balance: Full-time position (4 days of outpatient care and 1 day of administrative time). Patients mix can be tailored to allow for a hybrid general hematology oncology and subspecialty practice. Accommodations can also be made for those seeking to scale down full practices and seeking part time work.
    • Competitive Call Schedule: Phone-based call shared with Pen Bay Medical Center and Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, ME (approximately 1 week every 6 weeks). First calls taken by the APPs.

    Qualifications

    • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
    • Successful completion of residency/fellowship in oncology or hematology-oncology.
    • BC/BE in oncology or hematology-oncology.
