The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Neonatologist to join our dynamic and growing team. This full-time faculty position is open at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and offers the opportunity to join a nationally ranked program within a top-tier academic health system. The role can be tailored to the Clinical Educator (tenure-eligible) or Clinical Faculty (tenure-ineligible) track, depending on your professional goals.

Position Highlights

  • Join a team of 13 neonatologists and 9 fellows with diverse academic interests including education, QI, clinical research, and bench research.
  • Practice in our 64-bed Level IV NICU (expanding in early 2025) with 850+ admissions/year from across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Provide care for complex, high-acuity patients including pre-op cardiac and ECMO cases.
  • Work alongside an experienced group of APPs, residents, and medical/NNP/PA students.
  • Benefit from strong collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Pediatric Subspecialties, and a growing Fetal Care Center.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. with board certification or eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Demonstrated interest in education, QI, or scholarly work in an academic setting.
