SUMMARY
The Neonatologist will provide a high level of clinical excellence through providing safe, prompt, competent, collaborative, and evidence-based medical care to patients. The Neonatologist will be responsible to follow care guidelines and treatment protocols for infants with a variety of neonatal illnesses and conditions covering a broad spectrum of health issues.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provide assessment of patients by obtaining a comprehensive history.
- Examines patients to obtain objective physical data and supporting information through laboratory and imaging modalities.
- Formulate a differential diagnosis and develops a reasonable treatment plan to include pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and making appropriate referrals as indicated.
- Ensure the protection of patient rights and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Ensures appropriate handoff communications are accomplished.
- Responsible for teaching medical students and pediatric residents.
- Initiate and/or participate in scholarly activities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education Required: M.D., or D.O. degree required Active Scholarly Program with publication history is desirable but not required Successful completion of residency and fellowship program as applicable
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
Active CT Physician license Active DEA Board eligible or certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine as appropriate.
