Hematology/Oncology Physician Opportunity in Middletown, NY

Crystal Run Healthcare, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a patient-centric Hematology/Oncology Physician to join our growing team in Middletown, NY.

Position Highlights:

The Hematology & Oncology Department is a well-established, state-of-the-art practice serving Orange County, Hudson Valley, and the lower Catskills. We are one of the first 16 community cancer care facilities in America certified by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®).

• Fellowship-trained, physician-led, patient centered team-based care environment
• General oncology practice working with 6 other physicians and APCs 
• Established practice with a large referral base of over 400 providers spanning 70 medical and surgical specialties/sub-specialties
• Full infusion service including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy
• Support staff to assist with patient care that include:
  • Dedicated medical assistants
  • Large on-site 15 bay infusion center staffed with highly trained infusion nurses
  • On-Site pharmacists that do chemotherapy mixing
  • In-house authorization team that manages chemotherapy and biologics
  • On-Site radiology, lab, urgent care, and pathology services
• Autonomy in practice focusing on outpatient care, but includes affiliation with local tertiary care hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
• Desirable Monday–Friday schedule
• Manageable rotating on-call support and local inpatient rounding (1:7-week rotation)
• Patient census – adult focused population (18+)

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive testing and treatment of oncological and hematologic disorders
• Commonly treated conditions include, but not limited to: Disorders of Red or White Blood Cells, Sickle Cell Anemia, Thalassemia, Hemochromatosis, Bleeding and Clotting Disorders, Hematologic Malignancies, and all common types of cancer
• Consult with patients while providing them with the latest advancements in care
• Examine & diagnose patients to determine need for treatment, oversight of all treatment prior to and post-surgery, and associated risks

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of (or in process of completing) accredited fellowship training program
• BC/BE in Hematology/Oncology or Medical Oncology
• Unrestricted New York State Medical License and DEA certificate (or ability to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

New York Residents Only: The salary range is $367,611 to $610,124 per year. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement.
