### Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative cardiology care to hospitalized patients, with a focus on inpatient cardiology.
- Perform daily rounds and follow-up visits for patients as needed.
- Respond to inpatient cardiology consultations from other departments.
- Work in collaboration with the interventional cardiologist and electrophysiologist (EP) to manage more complex cases.
- Occasional admissions for post-PCI or outpatient pacemaker/ICD procedures (interventionalist/EP handles most admissions).
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the Meditech Expanse EMR system.
- Credentialing: The hospital can grant temporary/emergency privileges for a clean physician, with online modules required as part of the credentialing process.
### Work Environment:
- Support Staff : The hospital has a model of one general cardiologist and one interventional cardiologist. There is a growing number of APPs (Advanced Practice Providers) in the outpatient setting, with one APP providing minimal hospital rounding and coverage support.
- Hospital Setting : Community hospital with a collaborative and supportive environment, including an interventional cardiology team and an electrophysiologist.
### Required Qualifications:
- Board Certification in General Cardiology (Interventional or General Cardiology acceptable).
- Active ACLS Certification.
- PA License or IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) for licensure.
- At least 1 year of experience in inpatient cardiology.
- Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR is preferred, but not required.
### Additional Preferred Skills:
- TEE/Echo skills are helpful and preferred but not required.
