    SBUH located in Suffolk County, NY is currently facing a growing opioid epidemic. We are recruiting for the Direction of Substance Use Disorders Psychiatry that will operate NYS licensed SUB inpatient and outpatient programs.

    The Director will be tasked with providing the clinical, educational and research programs for substances of abuse and coordinate efforts between hospitals and clinics. The Director will routinely collaborate with internal and external stakeholders when developing programs and moving the community toward a prevention model.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • MD. or DO.
    • Demonstrated expertise in addiction medicine.
    • Experience running a multidisciplinary team of practitioners.
    • Board-Certified in Addiction Psychiatry.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Leadership experience in building and expanding substance use disorder services across a health system.
    • History of federal grant funding.
    • History of applying for and running an addictions psychiatry fellowship.

    Stony Brook Dept. of Psychiatry offers two separate pension plans! We contribute 8% of your annual salary with or without contribution! Free money vested at 3 Years of Service! NY State: • 457 (b) plan physician voluntary contributions • 403(b) plan physician voluntary contributions • Optional retirement plan State contributions CPMP/UUP • 8% of practice plan pay paid by us • Physician (irrevocable contribution commitment) contributions to CPMP 403 (b) plan
