Position: Cardiologist, Advanced Heart Failure
Qualifications
• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (MD/DO)
• Completion of an accredited Advanced Heart Failure fellowship • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey (or the ability to obtain before appointment);
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Advanced Heart Failure
• Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards for their specialty.
• ECMO and LVAD program development (preferred)
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. • Outstanding clinical teaching skills.
• Innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
• Establish an advanced heart failure program.
• Provide direct heart failure patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings .
• Work with a team of peers and colleagues to oversee inpatient and outpatient heart failure program initiatives.
• Assist with heart failure initiatives – including but not limited to, reduction in length of stay, observed to expected mortality, 30-day readmissions, adherence to core measures and other publicly reported data, optimized transitions of care.
• Represent the heart failure program and its activities within Capital Health system and at hospital level committees as needed.
• Assist in the development of an advanced heart failure LVAD program.
• Assist the development of an advanced heart failure ECMO program
• Establish an advanced heart failure research program.
• Improve operational efficiency of heart failure management including implementation of computer-based reporting and data. • Demonstrate transparency and integrity in interactions with physicians and staff, promoting trust in the institutional and departmental leadership.
• Foster excellent communications, teamwork, and cooperation in carrying out the clinical, educational, and mission of the cardiovascular service line.
