Job Highlights
The Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Cardiovascular Institute is recruiting a full-time Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join the Advanced Heart Failure/ Pulmonary Hypertension team at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
The Cardiovascular Institute at AHN includes a comprehensive panel of physicians, including multiple cardiology service lines (heart failure, electro-physiology, general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and imaging), cardiothoracic and vascular surgery as well as cardiac critical care. The heart failure section currently employs eight cardiologists, board-certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, as well as three full-time cardiothoracic transplant surgeons.
Job Duties:
- In-patient, outpatient clinic and cardiac catheterization lab duties
- In-patient service includes on-call, rounding on primary service and consults as well as ICU duties; Cath lab duties include hemodynamic assessment, endomyocardial biopsies
- Mentoring trainees in Dept of Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship, and Heart Failure Fellowship
Job Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree and completed an ACGME-accredited cardiovascular / heart failure fellowship
- Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
- Excellence in the entire spectrum of heart failure and pulmonary hypertension
- Expertise in temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support as well as cardiac transplantation
- Recent graduates are welcome to apply
- Pennsylvania License upon hire

Compensation Details
Salary and academic appointments at Drexel University will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement, and incentive through a practice plan. Candidates with a demonstrated record of research and publication will be preferred.
